A while ago I was looking through Etsy for something. I have forgotten what exactly as I so often follow links and discover the most amazing handmade items. On one such session I discovered Letterbox Kits and treated myself to the gingerbread house accessories kit.
This cute little box landed on my doorstep.
I opened it up to discover all these wonderful little things.
Here’s a close up, aren’t those decorations adorable!
I finally found some time to make them so sat down and looked through everything.
I added white polymer clay to the roof of a gingerbread house for snow then glued on the tiny decorations. There was a great mix of sweets including candy canes and liquorice which made it difficult deciding what to put where. There were sequins and silver balls too, so tiny they may have scattered across the table!
The kit is designed for ages 8 and over and I loved making it. You can be as creative as you like and there is even a mini mould so you can make your own decorations too.
I had soon decorated the three little gingerbread houses, and baked them in the oven to set. The kit included charms to make a necklace, keyring and Christmas decoration.
My kit cost £12.95 from Letterbox Kits on Etsy and they may a cupcake and pizza kit too! Perfect for kids but great for crafty adults too!

April 14, 2016 at 10:33 amThis is so cute, as if they’ve branded it for kids! I’d love one of these and I’m 23. I like that the clay is already set because that’s definitely what I’d struggle most with. My fat fingers definitely can’t mold anything small and intricate haha.
