toy review

Pretty in pink

My 2 year old daughter absolutely adores pink. Try as I might (and I’ve tried pretty hard) I can’t do anything about it. So I’ve decided to just let her get on with it, fingers crossed she’ll grow out of it one day.

Just before Christmas Big Game hunters sent her the Twinkle Tower from Le Toy Van to review, one of many toy castles and houses they sell. It was pink.

Building toys is not my strong point so I was pretty pleased that the Twinkle Tower came straight out of the box and could be played with immediately. I don’t know about you but it really annoys me when you need a screwdriver or scissors to liberate toys from their boxes. Anyway, there was none of that with this toy!

Twinkle Tower The Twinkle Tower is a pretty painted princess tower, including a full set of beautiful furniture and Princess ‘Amelia’ Budkin. The tower opens up to reveal a magical interior, and love heart motifs decorate the pink panels. The tower is perfect for use with the Budkins Truth Fairy dolls and Budkins Fairy Tale dolls.

There were two further things I liked about the toy – it includes some furniture and a Princess ‘Amelia’ Budkin, which means you don’t need to buy anything else if you don’t want to.

So what did my daughter think? To be honest she plays with it but she’s still more attracted to her pink plastic toys. Grrrr! I can’t stand plastic  toys but, despite my best endeavours, they’ve crept into our house. However, the Twinkle Tower is a most welcome addition to our toy shop house. Despite the colour my son has been enjoying playing with it too and it’s great for sparking their imaginations. They’ve been happily trying all their other little toys in it.

Twinkle Tower

It’s a sweet little size and so far I’ve spotted her Peppa Pig figures and Little People Disney Princesses in there too. I’m sure it won’t be long until it’s taken over by my son and becomes a garage for his cars. He’s already asked me where the stairs are, he’s a bright cookie that one, and doesn’t understand how the people are supposed to move between floors.

The Twinkle Tower complements other Le Toy Van sets and figures which is fab as I’m all for mixing and matching. My children are enjoying playing with it and I see lots more adventures for Amelia, as long as she doesn’t mind sharing her pad with Peppa et al.

I’ve been trying to introduce shades of reds and purples so it’s not too bad.

My eldest loved pink too and for a couple of years it was the only colour she wore. But she outgrew it by the time she started primary school. The castle is gorgeous, and I love how your son likes playing with it too.

I’m glad your daughter lieks this, even if she plays more with her plastic toys. Quite an advantage that the tower doesn’t need to be built up. I’m considering collecting dollhouse stuff and am looking at a dollhouse that comes righ tout of the box too.

Both my girls were mad about pink until they got to around
6 and then I think they got all pinked out! Kaycee’s favourite
    colour is now blue!

We have no pink here so I can say that is absolutely adorable. And yeh we didn’t need screwdrivers and the like to get our toys out of boxes as kids – what is with that?

My girl loves pink too! I have a girl and boy and they have played with all the same toys (huge variety!) and she loves her dolls house and anything pink and he loves cars and trains … not my influence, just their preference! Lovely post

Sounds just like my two, I think they’re naturally drawn to certain colours and types but also happy to play with anything that looks fun!

My boy loves pink – his favourite toy for ages was a pink
kitchen – I wouldn’t pay too much mind to it . It’s an attractive
colour to a lot of children and as she grows she might diversify
    her taste 🙂

Great little castle – although the pink would entirely put my son off. Despite my best attempts to not make him gender colours, he just doesn’t buy it. Pink isn’t something he’ll get on board with!

I spy with my little eye something that looks like a Queen and something that looks like a burglar – did they come with it?
    Looks like a fab toy
    xx
