Henri Le Worm: The Missing Cookbook, a fun new app for the iPad was launched today at Brasserie Blanc in Covent Garden. We were very excited to be invited to the launch event, especially as Simon Pegg, who lent his voice to Henri, attended the event too! After the speeches we took part in a cooking demonstration hosted by Raymond Blanc, who created the recipes for the app.
Henri Le Worm was created by Raymond Blanc’s son Olivier Blanc and actress Charlotte Salt. It is a fun interactive app for children aged two and above to enjoy with the aim to encourage children to start reconnecting with food and nature whilst enjoying a fun narrative.
We had a lovely time, we were able to play with the app before the cookery demonstration, where Raymond showed us how to create a chocolate mousse and a mayonnaise mouse (which features on the app). The toddler had lots of messy fun, in fact so much messy fun that Raymond commented on our messy work station! Luckily for us that’s kind of the message behind the app, that children should learn about where food comes from, have fun in the kitchen and enjoy the process. I think my toddler learned that today and I can’t wait to see what he cooks up next with a little help from Henri le Worm.
Henri Le Worm: The Missing Cookbook is available for the iPad and iPad mini and costs £2.99 from the iTunes app store.
