You can’t have missed the fact that Autumn has arrived in the northern hemisphere. Last week we celebrated the Autumn Equinox and went on a walk to see how many different leaves we could find. I love Autumn and nothing beats going for a walk, kicking leaves and spotting signs of nature changing all around us.
Over the last few days my daughter has filled the basket on her scooter with leaves and conkers. We have a nature table at home which was over flowing so decided to use some of the leaves we had found.
Hand print Autumn leaf craft for kids
We used:
gold and white card
glue stick
a selection of leaves
scissors
How to make a hand print Autumn tree
First my very independent 4 year old drew around her hand and arm on the back of a piece of gold card. she’s been drawing lots of dinosaur hand prints lately so she wanted to do this step all by herself.
Then she carefully cut around her fingers and arm to create the tree and branches.
We set this part of our craft aside and sorted through our pretty autumnal leaves to find a variety of shapes and sizes. Then we set everything up on a tray.
She loves sticking and was happy spreading glue everywhere and placing the leaves at the top of the tree. She’s the only person I know who can use a whole glue stick for a single craft!
When she was happy with all her leaves she glued the tree and branches over the top to create her hand print Autumn tree.
