Guest post from Show and Tell

Hello all!  I’m Betty B and I’m delighted to be doing this guest post on this fantastic blog, The Gingerbread House.  When I opted in to the Britmums blog swap/guest post, I thought it would be easy.  I’ve been blogging since the start of this year and never seemed to suffer from writer’s block…until now!

That’s just great, I offer up myself like a sacrificial lamb to another blogger’s readers and now I can’t even think of anything decent to tell them!  Fortunately, I have an active 19 month old daughter who is willing to spice up my daily life, so it was only a day before something cropped up for me to blog about.  Here goes…

After a rather harrowing day of shopping trolley rage, an empty petrol tank five miles from the nearest petrol station and one grumpy Madam, I decided to take a nice, relaxing bath, whilst Mr B entertained said Madam with a finger painting kit.

I filled the bathtub to the brim with piping hot water and about half a bottle of Radox (whoops, it slipped), shed my kit and jumped in.  OK, ‘jumped in’ is a slight exaggeration, that would have emptied the tub, so it was much more of a gingerly-sliding-in.

I then had around 3-4 minutes of wonderful relaxing ‘me-time’, before Madam wanted to show me the latest trick she’d learnt- how to open the bathroom door!  Oh yay….

Before you curse Mr B, he hadn’t let Madam wander upstairs, our bathroom is downstairs.  However, you can curse away at the fact that Mr B did turn his back long enough for my little monkey to ditch the paints and make a break for my haven.  Within no time at all, I’d been booted out of the tub in favour of a lot of bubble bath and a curious choice of tub-wear….

If you’ve been even vaguely amused by what you’ve read, you can find my regular blog HERE, feel free to stalk (follow) me and comment when the mood takes you.  Thanks for reading!
