We’re always on the lookout for seasonal activity to keep the children busy at this time of year. It’s getting dark by the time we get home from school so it’s nice to close the shutters and get together to craft round the table.
You know that we love the smell of gingerbread all year round, it’s not just for Christmas you know! We’ve incorporated gingerbread into so many crafts and activities over the years. It’s difficult to say which are our favourite gingerbread crafts although our gingerbread playdough recipe is something that gets used again and again.
Playdough is lots of fun for children but is also a great way of improving those fine motor skills. Children still need to exercise their hands and fingers and I find a batch of sweet smelling gingerbread playdough is irresistible to my children. There are lots of different ways to play with playdough. Today I wanted to share my gingerbread playdough mats.
These are 5 different mats you can print out at home featuring a gingerbread shape, gingerbread boy, gingerbread girl and a gingerbread house. Let these free playdough mats spark creative play!
