Starting the week by writing the Happy List is something I’ve been doing for the last few years. It’s my chance to sit down and reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of the adventures we have as a family.
Five Happy Things {Week 509}
I finished reading The Secrets of Flowers by Sally Page and wrote a little book review here. I really enjoyed this book as it had just the right mix of history and flowers and the Titanic. It was a little like a treasure hunt, emotional and historical. A lovely summer read if you’re looking for something to read whilst you’re on holiday.
Can you believe I’ve successfully completed a whole term of yoga? I can’t! My husband usually takes the kids climbing whilst I’m at yoga so, as it has finished for the term, I was able to go and watch them for once. They love to climb and spent a good hour tiring themselves out.
My son bought himself a new computer with money he earned decorating. He was really excited to upgrade his gaming computer and spent a few happy hours building it.
Over the weekend we spent a few hours at Hinton Ampner meeting up with some friends. Hinton Ampner is owned by the National Trust so we were able to collect another stamp in our passport. We looked round the lovely old house and explored the pretty walled garden before stopping off for tea and cake in the courtyard cafe. My phone is full of photos I took of all the beautiful flowers!
We’ve been playing around with resin over the last week, creating keepsake letters filled with small toys. It’s a slow process as we’ve been creating layers of resin, but the results are pretty fun. I think I’ll be sharing a tutorial for it soon.
Let me know what’s made you happy lately in the comments below.
