Monday Happy List

Five Happy Things {Week 506}

Jelly Cat Amuseables inspired cake

Starting the week by writing the Happy List is something I’ve been doing for the last few years. It’s my chance to sit down and reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of the adventures we have as a family.

Five Happy Things {Week 506}

My daughter went through to the next stage of her athletics competition and came second in the javelin. She even got scouted for her skills! She enjoyed taking part and it was good to see her finally using her amazing sporting talent.

Over the week we watched a lot of football thanks to The EUFA European Football Championship and lost of music thanks to Glastonbury (Dua Lipa, Keane and Coldplay were amazing). My daughter has made us a sweepstake for the final 16 teams in the football which makes things a little more interesting.

Royal Academy of Arts Summer Exhibition programme

On Saturday we took the kids to see the Royal Academy of Arts Summer Exhibition. This is a place we’ve wanted to visit for a while as both the kids take extra art lessons. There were 1700 pieces of art on display and we all found pieces we really liked. It was a great experience and best of all, the kids tickets were free.

We bought Thule bike roof racks so we can take our bikes out. So far we’ve taken our bikes to ride around Rickmansworth Aquadrome which is one of our favourite places. The bike racks worked really well and we enjoyed seeing the aquadrome a different way, we even ventured along the canal for a few miles.

We’ve baked a few cakes lately and decided to bake a Jelly Cat Amuseables inspired cake with strawberries and fresh cream. It was actually fun to bake and put together, we even added feet and a face!

What has made you happy lately?
