Monday Happy List

Five Happy Things {Week 464}

Thames Barrier Open Day

Starting the week by writing theย Happy Listย is something Iโ€™ve been doing for a while. This is my chance to sit down and reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of our family adventures. Itโ€™s a post I always love to write.

Five Happy Things {Week 464}

Last week was the final week of the school holidays. We made sure to keep the kids busy with finishing homework, bike rides, go karting and a trip to the local climbing centre. I also stitched name labels on every new item of school clothing I could find!

I finished stitching a sweet butterfly embroidered brooch last week, and also stitched lots of Liberty tumbling blocks, and a Christmas ornament! I’m not sure what came over me but I started the sweet gingerbread house kit which came with Love Embroidery magazine. I’m not sure I will manage to keep up with this level of creativity, but who knows!

Over the weekend we enjoyed a trip to the RAF Museum at Hendon. It has been a while since we last visited and it has completely changed. The kids really enjoyed the visit as there was so much to see and do.

Today we headed into London to see the Thames Barrier at Charlton. It was a public viewing day as once a month they raise the barrier for testing. It was a really amazing sight and we took a boat back into central London, which is the best way to see London.

Last week I reviewed 365 Days of Stitching and I am excited to start my own 365 embroidery journal. I’ve decided to start now and follow the academic year, which makes more sense to me that starting in January. I will keep you posted!

    I always love your happy things posts. I think it’s all too easy to focus on the negative when we have so much to be thankful for in our lives.

    This is a cute idea for a recap post! Also, it’s nice to connect with a blogger from the UK as I am writing from the states.
