Five Happy Things {Week 459}

Posted on July 30, 2023 by jenny

Starting the week by writing the Happy List is something I’ve been doing for a while. This is my chance to sit down and reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of our family adventures. It’s a post I always love to write.

Five Happy Things {Week 459}

Last week the kids were away at Scout camp on the Isle of Wight all week. They went hiking, crabbing, cycling, go karting and kayaking and had an amazing adventure. The weather was not kind to them but it sounds like they enjoyed all the experiences. I have not managed to catch up on all the washing they brought home with them yet!

Whilst they were away we kept ourselves really busy. We managed to have date night at a great local Argentinian restaurant in Northwood called Lomito. We don’t eat out on our own very often and this is our favourite place.

Have you watched Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning Part 1 yet? We watched it last week and it was very entertaining. I’m hoping to go and see Barbie now my daughter is back from Scout camp.

The blackberries are all out where we live and so we have been out blackberry picking twice in one week. We’ve picked over 2kg and made some delicious blackberry cordial and have frozen some for later too.

We also made it for drinks at the Creative Juices Brewing Company which is based at Woodoaks Farm in Rickmansworth. They have a great Tap Room, although the weather was finally good enough to sit outside and enjoy a drink.

Have a great week!

    Blackberry picking sounds so much fun. I wish we have a garden nearby too. More great and happy things for you next week.

    Oh I love berry picking…we used to do this in the summer when we were kids. The best memories. I really miss it but its such a lovely way to spend a summer afternoon.

    What a wonderful way to start the week! 💫✨ Writing the Happy List sounds like such a heartwarming tradition, allowing you to reflect on joyful moments and family adventures. 🥰 It’s amazing to hear about the kids’ exciting Scout camp on the Isle of Wight – hiking, crabbing, cycling, go karting, and kayaking – what an incredible adventure! 🏕️ Despite the weather, I’m glad they had a blast. And date night at Lomito sounds like a perfect treat – Argentinian cuisine sounds delightful! 🍽️💕

    It’s a shame about the weather while the kids were away but sounds like a fun trip. And a bit of time for you both to have to yourselves x
