Five Happy Things {week 226}

Posted on February 4, 2019 by jenny

Monday morning again. Hope you had a great weekend and enjoyed the snow if you had any. I love to start the week by writing Five Happy Things. It’s a chance for me to sit down and reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of our family adventures – it’s a post I always enjoy writing.

Five happy things {Week 226}

Did you have snow last week? We waited so long for the snow to arrive. We didn’t get nearly as much as was forecast. We were all hoping for a Snow Day so we could go out and enjoy it but sadly school was open! Fortunately it stuck around for a few days so the kids were able to play outside and enjoy it over the weekend.

The Lego Movie 2 fever has well and truly hit our house. The children have The Lego Movie 2 books, sticker albums and last week I found The Lego Movie 2 minifigs which got me major brownie points with the kids. We’ve already collected half of them so it shouldn’t take us long to complete the set. We can’t wait to go and see the film so I’m really hoping that my children behave well this week so we can go and see it on Friday.

making edible slime

I seem to have my crafting mojo back. Last week we made some edible slime which my daughter just loved. We used Starburst sweets and I’ll be sharing the recipe as it was quick and easy. I also made a sweet mini motivational pennant for my wok space, worked on a lovely gingerbread house papercut and cut an Orla Kiely inspired lino cut.

I love watching Netflix as I craft and we finished Tidying Up with Marie Kondo which was really inspirational. I became obsessed though with just how tall is Marie Kondo? Everyone towers over her, she’s so dinky! Now we’ve moved on to DC Titans which is the complete opposite, it’s a little dark for me but I’m intrigued to see what happens.

We made so many videos for our YouTube channel last week. I completely fell out of love with YouTube for a while but I think that reducing my working hours means I have a little more time for it. We added some fun videos including a few Lego Movie 2 unboxings as well as a video about the new Bear’s Curious Quest cards. Don’t forget to subscribe to keep up to date with us or join my mailing list as I hit 500 subscribers this week 🙂

    Well done on your YouTube subscribers, that’s brilliant. I have just ordered a Marie Kondo book so I’d love to watch that!

    We didn’t get enough snow for a snow day sadly and the kids were most upset they had to go to school

    Glad you have found your love of YouTibe again. My husband makes our videos and loves creating them. I know if I started a channel myself I would be addicted!

    No snow here, though I am quite glad to be honest. The edible slime recipe sounds fab!

    We didn’t get much snow which was very disappointing. Looks like you had a good week.
