Starting the week by writing the Happy List is something I’ve been doing for the last few years. It’s my chance to sit down and reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of the adventures we have as a family.
Five Happy Things {Week 10/2025}
Last week we celebrated Pancake Day with lots of different types of pancakes. I bought some ready made ones (so we could all sit down and eat together) but we also let the kids make their own. They are so delicious I’m not sure why we don’t eat them more often.
The latest Hoop Club kit arrived so I was excited to stitch it. It features a design by Keely Reyes and the words ‘Abundance is a mindset’ around a floral design. It’s stitched all in one colour and I’m really enjoying the simple design. I haven’t opened the last two boxes so I’m glad to have this kit.
We were fortunate to visit Crufts again this year. We went last year and had such a great time that we couldn’t wait to go again. We finally made it to the arena to watch some of the agility rounds, and met lots and lots of dogs at the Discover Dogs stands.
My son has his birthday soon so we took him and his friends go karting for an early birthday treat to our local Teamsport. They had a great evening celebrating his birthday and we have some more fun things planned for him!
Today I went all the way to south London to the Tirzah Garwood: Beyond Ravilious exhibition at the Dulwich Picture Gallery. I’ve wanted to see this exhibition for a while and had a rare free day. My mum gave me Tirzah’s autobiography, Long Live Great Bardfield, for Christmas. Despite being a wife and mother of three children in the 1930s she produced beautiful wood engravings, marbled papers, collages, textiles and paintings during her short life.

March 10, 2025 at 1:45 amThe Hoop Club sounds like a great idea! I would love to do something like that even though I don’t do a lot of sewing or crafts. It seems like you had some nice things to appreciate this week.
