It’s that time of the month, the PinAddicts Pinterest Challenge. The idea is to choose something from your Pinterest boards to create and link up each month.
Fabric alphabet for little fingers
This month I was totally inspired to make this colourful fabric alphabet by Chez Beeper Bebe. I love reading her blog and she has some lovely free tutorials.
I thought I would make a version for our fridge which is covered in magnets.
I wanted to use a rainbow of colours so chose a range of fabrics from my stash. I then cut out the letters and pinned them on to a layer of fabric, wadding and more fabric. Then I sewed round each letter on my machine, leaving a small opening to insert a magnet and finish off by hand.
This was the hard bit – I used some magnets which were a bit too strong! They were attracted to the needle which made it difficult to sew each letter closed, and they were attracted to each other on the fridge! If I ever made these again I would definitely do some research on magnets…
However, I love the finished result! A cute little project to whip up in an evening.

These are lovely, such a great idea to put magnets inside them for a change from plastic fridge letters 🙂
