Surely Spring must be on the way. Our garden is full of bulbs and our fingers are crossed that it will stop raining for half term next week. The teen and I have been crafting miniature makes for our Maileg mice. We wanted to share the cutest little recycled craft for your little ones (with a bit of help from you!).
DIY Maileg costumes for Spring
We used recycled cardboard tubes as the base for our DIY costumes. We decided to make a daffodil and a leek – to celebrate St David’s Day next month.
We painted our tubes in light green paint, adding white to the top.
When the tubes were dry I cut a hole for the face and hands, and cut into each tube to make them look a little more like leeks.
We shortened one of the tubes for the Big Brother Mouse, and stitched him a little felt leek.
For the daffodil petals we drew the rough shape on a piece of card before painting them yellow.
We cut out a hole for the face and then glued it to a tube we had painted green.
We enjoyed crafting with these pretty Spring colours and our little Maileg mice are all ready for the new season.
