Earlier this month we had fun with our Duck Tape bookmarks so we thought it was time to share another Back to School craft with you. My 6 year old is starting Year 2 in a few weeks. This is going to be a big change for her and I’m really hoping she will settle in well. A new school year means time to update the desk in her bedroom where she does her homework so we thought a little homemade DIY would brighten it up. She loves emojis so came up with our Emoji Pen Pots.
How to make DIY Emoji Pen Pots
You will need:
containers (we used plant pots)
yellow paint
black and green card
Bostik Glu Dots
The first thing we did was to paint the pots with the brightest paint we could find. They needed two coats but didn’t take long to dry in this weather.
Whilst they were drying we designed the features on card. My daughter chose dollar signs and hashtags, her current favourites.
I carefully cut them out and she applied Bostik Glu Dots on the back of each one and positioned them on each pot.
They make really colourful pen pots for her desk. They’re a great size for pens and will hopefully encourage her to keep her desk tidy too.
