    Paper plate snowdrop sun catcher

I absolutely love snowdrops. In fact I love any Spring flower, they are such a welcome sight after the gloom of Winter. We’ve been so excited to spot the snowdrops and crocuses popping up that we thought we would try and re-create the snowdrops at home. There has been quite a lot of baking this Winter. Who doesn’t love baking? My kids love it too and it always results in some tasty tea-time treats. My 7 year old decided only he could read out the jokes and my little magpie 6 year old pocketed all the little toys. I was happy to collect the paper crowns as I knew they would be perfect for a craft I’ve been meaning to try for a while. I love recycling little things and paper crowns are perfect. They…

Gingerbread crowns for Three Kings Day

You know that I love to celebrate the seasons which is why I had to mark Twelfth Night in some way. We took the Christmas decorations down over the weekend (not a job I wanted to do on my own) so the house has been looking a little empty. With everyone back at work and school I made some yummy gingerbread crowns for Three Kings Day, also known as Twelfth Night. So I made a large batch of yummy gingerbread dough. I rolled it out and cut out my shapes – three Russian-inspired crowns for the Three Kings. I used…
