    Han Solo painted rock

    Are you looking forward to the release of Solo: A Star Wars Story next month? Our family all love Star Wars so I can’t wait to go and watch the film with the whole family. We love to craft around the Star Wars films. You can search for some of our Star Wars crafts here. Today we’ve combined our love of Star Wars with our enjoyment of painting and hiding rocks in our local area, and made a Star Wars/Han Solo painted rock to hide at the weekend. For our Star Wars themed painted rocks I used white cobblestones, a…

    Star Wars Coding Projects {book review}

    My 7 year old is really enjoying his lessons in the computing room at his new school. In Year 3 they start to learn Scratch which he’s really excited about. He loves computer games, especially Minecraft, Cars 3, Mario Kart, Splatoon 2 and anything Lego. We’ve played around a bit with Scratch at home, he can make a sprite walk across the screen and move around. It’s something he loves to do with his Dad and it’s great to see them doing something together.     Star Wars Story Stones {A-Z Play at Home}

    Now the children are back at school I have started to get some play prompts ready for them when they get home. The first few days they just wanted to play on the PS4 or watch YouTube. In understand they’re tired but I really don’t want them to get in the habit of switching on and zoning out. My 7 year old loves to create, I guess that’s why he loves Minecraft, so I left out some smooth stones and Posca pens. These are great for drawing on almost any surface and we use them quite a lot. My son…

    Monday happy things {Week 136}

    Last week was good. I love a Bank Holiday Monday and we decided to visit Buckinghamshire Railway Centre and Waddesdon Manor.Buckinghamshire Railway Centre was huge and although the weather wasn’t great we all enjoyed riding on the trains. We had a lovely day out but it was pretty tiring. The highlight of our week was of course Star Wars Day! We started with a yummy Star Wars breakfast of green Yoda milk. It would have been blue Bantha milk but we didn’t have any blue food colouring. There were also Star Wars pancakes which were a fun way to start the…

    Star Wars Day wreath {decorating for Star Wars Day}

    My children have embraced Star Wars Day as they do Easter and Christmas. To them it’s completely normal to decorate our little indoor seasonal tree with Star Wars decorations. This year we decorated our little tree and made a Star Wars Day wreath! Decorating for Star Wars Day We hung the little Star Wars toys which came with Kinder Eggs which both my children collected. They were the strangest mash up of a figure and vehicle I’ve ever seen but each one came with a little hanger – perfect for hanging on a tree! We managed to get the complete…

    12 Star Wars inspired food and drink ideas {Star Wars Day}

    Since having children it feels like I’ve embraced Star Wars a little more each year. This year we are celebrating Star Wars Day with decorations and hopefully some food! My 7 year old is the biggest Star Wars fan, despite my attempts to introduce other things. Now I just embrace it along with him, and know far more than I need to about Star War characters and the galaxy. To bring it back to my comfort area I make sure we do plenty of Star Wars crafts! Thank goodness for Pinterest! May the 4th is Star Wars Day although it…
