    My children are little magpies, collecting leaves, conkers and acorns wherever we go. Over the weekend we had a lovely walk in our local woods where we went on a little scavenger hunt, encouraging them to collect different coloured leaves along the way.     We’ve been fortunate to spend a few days at the beach over the summer holidays. The children just love the beach, much more than I do! They are happy to play and don’t really need anything special such as swimming clothes or toys.     We have a beautiful magnolia bush in our front garden. The petals are a deep purple colour on the outside and a lighter pink inside, and the bush has recently been in bloom. When we came home one day we noticed that the petals had been falling off (already!) so we picked them up to take a closer look at them.     I am so happy to be seeing the signs of Spring around me. Yesterday I hung the washing out for the first time this year and the children played happily in the garden. I gave them a bucket of water and sponges so they could clean their trampoline. I have a favourite road to drive down and the trees are full of blossom. I feel so happy knowing that Spring is here.
