I’m getting a bit bored of writing about another busy week but it’s true. I can’t believe it’s Monday again and a new month to boot. We have lots of exciting things planned for February so it should be a great month. Anyway, time for my weekly roundup – Monday Happy Things. This week I’ve been using the new Orla Kiely handbag I bought in Covent Garden last weekend. I fell in love with my Little Owl Quilted Reversible Tote as it features my favourite stem pattern in a lovely quilted design. I chose the red colour to add a…

Adult colouring books were definitely the big thing in 2015. I have a shelf of them myself and a lovely collection of colouring pens, which the children know they are not allowed to touch! It looks like the trend will be continuing this year and I’m excited to share three new books and a new art therapy series from Anastasia Catris, the creator of #ColourMeMindful. Misplacing your wallet, forgetting where you parked your car, or getting your friend’s birthday wrong: these are just some of the many common memory slips we all experience from time to time. And such cognitive…

I hope you all had a great weekend. I don’t think we sat down once, it was a busy but fun weekend. Time once again for my weekly Monday Happy Things post. This week I have been singing along to Faure’s Requiem and Haydn’s Te Deum. Last year I joined a local choir and I am looking forward to performing these two pieces in March. On Thursday I went to the Hobbycraft Spring/Summer Press Show and came away with lots of inspiration. They had some lovely products and I was able to try my hand at stencilling, came away with…

Time for my weekly Monday Happy Things post. My son has joined our local Beavers group and went along to his first session. He really enjoyed himself so I’m hoping he’ll stick with it. This week he also started Maths Club and Football Club. Both of these are only for a term but he was happy with the first week. I wasn’t so happy with the additional trips to school so I’m grateful we live close to school. I’ve been decluttering magazines, part of a wider tidy up of the house which seems to happen every January. I was amazed…

Earlier this year I reviewed three colouring books for adults from Anastasia Catris. The books were so popular I’m delighted to announce the publication of three more titles in the Colour Me Mindful series: ENCHANTED CREATURES, SEASONS and BUTTERFLIES. Adult colouring books have burst to the top of the best selling lists and it’s easy to see why as they are an effective stress reducing aid for adults. They help you focus your mind, provide a creative outlet as well as a soothing mindful experience from the hustle and bustle of our daily lives. These three books depict a breath-taking…

Colouring books for adults is a big trend this year. I admit to investing in a few as they are great for pulling out when you need to switch off and relax for a while. Having young children who love to colour means I do my fair share of colouring Peppa Pig and Shopkins, so it’s lovely to bring out my own colouring books. Today three stress reducing colouring books for adults – Colour Me Mindful: birds, tropical and underwater by Anastasia Catris are published by Orion in paperback. These stress reducing colouring books for adults are a perfect handbag…

Today I wanted to share two new parenting titles from Scribe with you. They aim to help parents solve two of the most commented on, despaired over and debated about parenting dilemmas: sleep and discipline using Mindful discipline The Happy Sleeper by sleep experts Julie Wright and Heather Turgeon offers an alternative sleep training method to ‘cry it out’ or ‘attachment parenting’. Using an approach rooted in making children feel safe, secure and happy in their bedtime routines, The Happy Sleeper offers practical advice for parents wanting to create good sleeping habits, or undo poor ones. The fantastic thing about…
