Last weekend we were fortunate to be invited to a very special preview of the new The Lego Batman Movie in Leicester Square. My son loves Lego so off we went to the West End for a day out together. Before the preview started there were lots of things to do at the cinema. My son got a Batman logo painted on his hand (which he insisted on not washing off all day), we enjoyed some special Lego biscuits and he played Lego Dimensions with the new Batman Movie Story Pack. Â It was a great way to spend a morning…

Every Monday I sit down and take 10 minutes to think about the high points of the previous week. Sometimes I struggle to find 5 things, and sometimes there are too many. Last week was quite quiet so I was able to find time for lots of baking and crafting. Monday Happy List – week 122 The highpoint of last week must be starting with a day at the V&A, one of my favourite galleries. There were some exhibitions I had wanted to see for a while and I managed to visit the Undressed exhibition, Opus Anglicanum exhibition as well as…

Hope you all had a great weekend. Ours was filled with parties and swimming lessons as usual. Every Monday I write a post about the five things which have made me happy in the previous week – imaginatively titled Monday happy things. My son was off sick most of last week with chicken pox. He is pretty good company and I enjoyed spending time with him. When he was feeling a little better we managed to get out and he found a huge Chewbacca figure in a charity shop. He was so excited to add it to his Star Wars…

I love the period between Christmas and New Year. My husband had taken the whole time as annual leave so we were able to relax and went to my mum’s house for a few days. My weekly Happy List helps me be mindful of the small things which have happened in the previous week. If you do something twice does that make it a tradition? I hope so. On Boxing Day we went to our local Pantomime. It was bad but in a good way and everyone seemed to enjoy it. It felt like everyone received Lego for Christmas except…

Happy Monday everyone. I hope you all had a lovely Christmas and are doing something nice for St Stephen’s Day. I know it’s Christmas. Time for my weekly Monday Happy List blog post. Last week was pretty hectic trying to get everything ready for Christmas. We are spending Christmas at home with my mum but it still felt quite busy – last minute present shopping, buying food and cleaning the house. We were busy with a Christmas party at Beavers, my children had a karate lesson and I helped my daughter and her class walk to school for a church…

On Wednesday my husband and I decided to have a day time date. As much as we love our children we hardly ever get to do the things we wanted to do. So we headed into the West End for a bit of shopping and lunch without two children who need constant food and toilet breaks! We’re both adult fans of Lego so wanted to visit the new Lego Store in Leicester Square. I’d been invited to view it before it opened to the public and was gutted I couldn’t make it. It was our first stop when we got…

After a few weeks at home we have finally got away for a holiday. I was really looking forward to a change of scenery and some meals out! Our preparations start early as my children love to start planning what they are going to take. Now clearly they are only talking about their toys but you would think they were planning the whole trip with the amount of discussions which take place. My 6 year old loves his Lego, especially his Star Wars sets, so wanted to take some of this with him. The last time we agreed to Lego…

I’m really enjoying the summer holidays. I’m not sure if it’s because the children are a little bit older or that we’ve not had a moment to be bored. I struggled to make a short list for my weekly Monday Happy List post, we’re just too busy at the moment! However, if I have to choose my 5 favourite things over the last week they would be as follows: My 6 year old was invited to an amazing Lego birthday party at the start of the week. It was well organised with 3 different Lego challenges. My son is Lego…

The May Bank Holiday weekend saw us enjoying a family weekend away. We managed to fit in some grown up time to see the new Captain America: Civil War film which was really good. You can’t beat a bit of escapism. We went antique-ing at Frome Market where I nearly picked up a gorgeous dolls house. My practical mind got the better of me and I resisted as I had nowhere to put it. Instead I stocked up on fabric for me, and craft kits for the children, in Millie Moon. We celebrated May Day by decorating our seasonal tree…
