This afternoon we were invited to go and see a preview of the highly anticipated sequel to Wreck-It Ralph that sees Ralph (John C. Reilly) and his racing driver best friend Vanellope (Sarah Silverman) leave the arcade world behind to explore the uncharted and thrilling world of the internet on a quest to save Vanellope’s racing game! We just loved Wreck-It Ralph. Can you believe it came out on 2012? In the first film arcade-game character Wreck-It Ralph is tired of always being the “bad guy” and losing to his “good guy” opponent, Fix-It Felix. Finally, after decades of seeing…

It’s very British to talk about the weather but I just can’t help it! What happened to the weather this week? It’s been so cold and I’ve been de-icing my car every morning before I drive off to work. Anyway, the cold weather has been keeping us indoors after school so I was pleased to be able to bring out a new film for us all to watch. Join the adorably ambitious “littlest reindeer”, Elliot, this Christmas as he sets his sights on becoming the newest – and tiniest – member of Santa’s reindeer team! The Littlest Reindeer With an…

My 6 year old just loves dogs. She really wants a dog of her own but it’s just not practical at the moment. Instead she has to make do with cuddly toy dogs, books about dogs and films about dogs. We missed Show Dogs when it was released earlier this year so were happy to be sent a copy to watch at home. Yesterday we enjoyed a quiet afternoon at home which was perfect for snuggling up under a blanket and watching Show Dogs. Show Dogs film review Have you heard of Show Dogs? It’s the pawfect family film, following…

Yesterday we had an amazing trip to Blakeney Point to see the seals! It was brilliant but very cold considering the time of year. Our boat trip lasted an hour, after we were back on dry land we headed to The Anchor Inn at Morston to warm up with a delicious hot lunch. The weather wasn’t great so we were happy to come back to our cottage, light the log burner, toast marshmallows and watch Ferdinand. We didn’t manage to watch it at the cinema but the trailer looked really funny, definitely a family film we would watch. Ferdinand Stop…

Last week I visited Lady Dinah’s Cat Emporium (London’s first cat cafe) to celebrate The LEGO NINJAGO Movie which comes out on DVD and Blu-ray on the 12th February. You may wonder what the link is between cats and The LEGO NINJAGO Movie. If you haven’t been lucky enough to watch the film then let me tell you a little bit about it: The battle for NINJAGO City calls to action young Master Builder Lloyd, aka the Green Ninja, along with his friends, who are also secret ninja warriors. Led by Master Wu, as wise-cracking as he is wise, they must defeat the evil warlord…

I’ve mentioned before how much I love the stories of Beatrix Potter. My sister and I shared a beautiful set of her stories which we still have, although I have to admit a few of the pages might have our scribbles on them. We both loved the stories and have re-read them with our own children, and we have 5 between us. The books are simply magical, and the illustrations really bring each character to life. Now, did you know that Peter Rabbit is the oldest licensed character in the world? Beatrix Potter registered him at the Patent Office in…

On November 27th Sony Pictures Animation’s The Emoji Movie was released on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, DVD and Digital Download from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment. Little Sis and I watched The Emoji Movie in the summer and we absolutely loved it (see what we thought of it here), so we couldn’t wait until we could watch it again at home. The animated comedy unlocks the never-before-seen secret world inside your smartphone. Hidden within the messaging app is Textopolis, a bustling city where all your favourite emojis live, hoping to be selected by the phone’s user. In this world, each emoji has only…

My 5 year old has recently become a fan of PJ Masks. I ignored this for a while but since she started quizzing me on their names and catchphrases, I sat and watched an episode with her and feel that I now know more than I need to about PJ Masks. When Connor, Amaya and Greg put on their pyjamas and activate their animal amulets, they turn into their alter egos – Catboy, Owlette and Gekko – before embarking on adventures filled with action. Along the way, they solve mysteries and learn valuable lessons too. My daughter loves Gekko and…
