My daughter loves her L.O.L. Surprise collection. I love the fact that the dolls and accessories are interchangeable. She has quite a few dolls but really needs a way of storing them so we were excited to be sent the new L.O.L. Surprise! Pop-Up Store Playset to review. This allows you to take your L.O.L. dolls out on the town. L.O.L. Surprise! Pop-Up Store Playset We love the L.O.L. Surprise toys although I have to admit they do come with a lot of bits. There are often the dolls, accessories, jokes, instructions and sometimes even a case to display them on.…

We’ve been working with Asmodee and are members of their Blogger Board Game Club, reviewing some classic and new family games. My children love to play all kinds of games and we’ve had lots of fun with Ticket to Ride, Carcassonne and Dixit amongst others. We were recently sent Cobra Paw to review and tell you about. Blogger Board Game Club review: Cobra Paw My children are big fans of Lego Ninjago so loved the look of Cobra Paw. The 6-sided box features a ninja cat which made us all laugh. They couldn’t wait to see what was inside the…

I have been busy trying to find suitable stocking fillers for my children this week. I love putting the Christmas stockings together but we have really large ones which need lots of little things! I have finished my husband’s one thanks to a recent collaboration and don’t forget to pop over for your chance to win the same items. Both my children love stationery so it’s pretty easy to find them something they will like. I really like to try and find presents that are useful and follow the ‘something you want, something you need, something to wear and something…

Happy Monday everyone. Hope you had a great weekend. Each week I start off by writing my Monday mindfulness – 5 happy things blog post. It’s a great chance to reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of our family adventures – it’s a post I always enjoy writing. Monday mindfulness – 5 happy things This week has gone super quickly as I had two days off, thanks to a work conference. I was so happy to have two days to myself and managed to do lots of Christmas shopping,…

This weekend has been a little cold and damp, definitely Autumnal with a hint of Winter. I don’t mind the colder months and if we have a few good games to play then generally everyone is happy. This weekend has been pretty busy with birthday celebrations and a trip to race our model cars. We’ve been trying to go for months and finally squeezed in a trip to the woods with some friends. It was lovely to come home and relax afterwards. With homework out of the way we were able to enjoy a few games of Boom Ball which…

There have been a few culture shocks for me since I started my new job. Swapping the life of a freelance blogger to work in a school is strange, not least because there is a dress code at work. I’ve swapped my mum uniform of jeans and jumper for interview smart which has been a bit of a shock. Thankfully Simply Be came to my rescue, offering me the chance to style an outfit for my Autumn wardrobe. Back to work outfit with Simply Be Autumn is easily my favourite season. I love wearing layers, going for walks in the…

Sometimes I feel that our house will never be decorated the way we want it. For us, winter is the time we plan and do any DIY projects. The warmer weather is perfect for getting out and about and having family adventures; winter is for being at home, enjoying each others’ company and working on making our house a home. We’re fortunate to have a spare bedroom which we’ve turned into a home office. It’s small but perfectly formed and makes a great home office for my husband when he works from home. It’s been the last room to get…

A few weeks ago my husband treated us to a family Afternoon Tea to celebrate our 10th Wedding Anniversary. Whilst Afternoon Tea in London might not be most people’s way of celebrating, we thought it was the perfect treat for our little family. I had spent the morning at a botanical papercutting workshop, so after it had finished I headed over to Mayfair in London’s West End to meet up with the rest of the family. Afternoon tea in London It’s been a while since we’ve treated ourselves to Afternoon Tea in London. Over the last few years ago we’ve…

It’s been a while since I read and shared a good book with you. I love to read and have been reading more since we started Drop Everything and Read at school this year. It encourages me to read just as much as it does the students, and I look forward to swapping book recommendations in the Staff Room at break. I picked up a copy of The Cactus at my local library as I found the cover image so eye catching. I read the blurb on the back and knew I had to read it, so bought a copy.…
