Today I wanted to share the Global Science Challenge competition with you. There are some amazing prizes, such as a trip to Orlando Florida! But first let me tell you about the Cake Soap Factory kit from Wild! Science. Cake Soap Factory The Cake Soap Factory is an educational and fun kit for children aged 8 and over. We love educational toys and this ticks all the boxes for a great STEAM experience (science, technology, engineering, art and maths). The soap in this kit can be melted and moulded to make almost any solid shape. Whipping the soap creates a stable foam…

Do you celebrate Mother’s Day? It’s coming up towards the end of the month on March 26th here in the UK. I always look forward to receiving a handmade card and little gift. I quite like it if I get a day off from cooking too, just someone else to take over the food preparation and the dishwasher is my idea of a perfect day. I’m not quite sure what we’re doing but I’m hoping there will be some time for a hot cup of tea and an hour with my favourite adult colouring book. There are some gorgeous books around…

Even though my children are young, there are some lovely products around that we seem to have just missed. I would have loved a set of baby milestone cards and a copy of I’m Wrecked, This Is My Journal by Shannon Cullen. Forget the twee baby books that document every detail you didn’t know you needed to remember in a blaze of pastel colours and bunnies. The reality is that most new parents are simply feeling their way through those early months with a new baby. When Shannon Cullen had her first baby, she found herself scribbling random notes at…

If you’re looking for value for money then look no further than dotcomgiftshop who have a range of wonderful pieces for the home this Spring. As…

It’s been a while since I featured any children’s picture books on my blog. With World Book Day coming up we have been thinking about our favourite books and characters. So it seemed like the perfect time to share a lovely new picture book with you. Read on for your chance to win a copy. Edie by Sophy Henn Hello! My name is Edie. I am EVER so helpful. In fact, I think helping is one of the things I am best at… Edie is certainly a very good helper, whether it’s helping mummy wake bright and early, helping Daddy…

I know my readers love to hear about the latest competitions so this evening I am sharing one hosted by IntoTheBlue as it’s creative and fun. My children love to chat. This morning my 6 year old crept into bed with me and immediately started talking about what he wanted to build in Minecraft! Thankfully I’ve perfected the art of listening whilst imagining myself elsewhere. Sometimes I just imagine a long, hot bath with a glass of wine. Sometimes whilst waiting at school pick up I imagine myself somewhere warm and sunny …. Imagination is a wonderful thing and for sharing…

My 6 year old has really surprised me with his love of football. I have never been sporty but my son attends a weekly football club and recently watched Chelsea play at Stamford Bridge. So I knew he would love the new Champions League Fact File. Just in case you didn’t know, the UEFA Champions League makes headlines from August to May every year. This action-packed book is bursting with eye-popping stats about the greatest teams and players in world football. Read all about the early years of the European Cup, discover what it takes to progress through the rounds to…

Last weekend my son and I were lucky to attend the premiere of the new LEGO Batman Movie. It was brilliant and we absolutely loved it and can’t wait to see it again when it comes out in cinemas on the 10th February. Lego films are always fun and it inspired us to plan our own Lego-themed movie night in with the whole family. First of all there will be snacks. Luckily I’ve had some practice making Lego themed food. Everyone loves lego biscuits and simple Lego cupcakes. I’ve also had fun experimenting with Easy Lego Bento ideas, so we have plenty of…

I try not to get carried away by Valentine’s Day and encourage my little family to give small, token gifts. I want my children to enjoy giving just as much as receiving, although by no means have they quite grasped this concept just yet 🙂 I’ve been thinking of some small gifts they can make and give and they enjoyed the washi tape hearts we made the other day. They also loved our heart-shaped brownies so I can see us making more and giving these. I’ll also be hoping they try to be extra nice to each other on Valentine’s Day!…
