    Fairy garden small world play

Our latest Bostik Bloggers parcel arrived full of crafty products and I immediately knew what to make. The theme was garden and my 4 year old loves her fairies so I thought it would be fun to make a fairy garden for small world play. We’ve been collecting little items for a while so we had everything we needed to make a special fairy house and place it in our indoor fairy garden. We took a sweet little bottle and painted the bottom part with white acrylic paint and the top with red and white acrylic paint to look like…

St George and the Dragon luminary

St George’s Day isn’t celebrated until April 23rd but that didn’t top us having fun with this George and the Dragon luminary. We really enjoy crafting with these large glass jars and now the children are a little bit older  I don’t worry about them so much. Saint George lived in the 3rd century and was born in what was the Roman Empire, somehow he ended up as the patron Saint of England. Easter shadow box

A while ago my daughter and I visited a fantastic exhibition at the Royal Academy, the Joseph Cornell Wanderlust exhibition. He was an American artist famed for his collages and assemblages. Easy woven heart decorations

This year I am really looking forward to working with some great craft brands and I am excited to be sharing a post today which has been sponsored by Bostik. We received a wonderful box of craft supplies and Bostik glues to make something special for Valentines Day. With both children off sick from school yesterday, it was the perfect activity to keep them occupied. The craft supplies included brightly coloured paper and felt so we decided to make some Scandi style felt heart decorations for our living room. Traditionally made at Christmas time, I didn’t see why we couldn’t…

    Styrofoam pumpkin and pumpkin patch

Last week I showed you the styrofoam ball spider we made with our Bostik Craft Club supplies. We were sent so many lovely items we decided to make more – a styrofoam pumpkin! My 4 year old cut the orange tissue paper into small piece and together we used the glue pen to stick the tissue paper on the styrofoam ball. We left it to dry whilst we worked on our pumpkin patch. I found a small styrofoam wreath in my craft stash and my 4 year old wrapped the coloured wool round it (which was great for his fine…

    Sycamore seed fairies

The changing seasons seem to be really noticeable where we live. On our recent walks we’ve been collecting leaves, conkers, berries and the winged seeds from Sycamore trees. I’ve enjoyed introducing my children to the fun of throwing them up in the air and trying to catch them. We found some super large one’s so we gathered a few to take home. I thought they would make great wings so we made some little Sycamore seed fairies from wooden clothes pegs. Materials you need to make Sycamore seed fairies: wooden clothes pegs black permanent pen scraps of fabric Sycamore seeds…

Back to school no-sew shoe bag

My son starts Reception in a couple of weeks. We’ve been keeping busy to prevent the dreaded Summer holiday brain-loss and have been working our way through basic phonics and puzzles. We started a holiday journal too where we add a photograph for eachday and he writes a little about what we’ve done. I’m feeling super organised as we’ve bought most of his uniform. This year he needs a PE kit so I thought I would make a shoe bag for him to keep his plimsolls in. I wanted it to be as easy as possible so today I’m sharing…
