    Mother’s Day rosette

We were sent a wonderful parcel of Baker Ross goodies which the children have been happily ploughing their way through. Today I’m going to share two fun Mother’s Day crafts. My 4 year old loves to look through our craft box and this Mother’s Day rosette kit really caught his eye. How to make a simple Mother’s Day rosette: The kit included pre-cut foam templates, self-adhesive foam pieces, sequins and a badge pin. Big Brother picked a blue and yellow kit (there were 3 designs to choose from) and got to work. There were pictorial instructions but he didn’t need…

    Daffodil sun catchers

It’s been so dreary lately that we wanted to make something colourful today. My 3 year old has wanted to make sun catchers for a while so today we made some daffodil ones using ready cut frames and cellophane squares. I cut the cellophane squares into smaller pieces, placed the frame on a piece of contact paper and set everything out for my daughter. She had fun enjoying what colours to put where. She also tried to find different sizes of cellophane to cover the larger petals. When she had finished I covered the other side with more contact paper…

    Lovebug Valentine glasses

The children were sent a lovely parcel of craft kits from Baker Ross last week. Of course they immediately wanted to make everything but they decided on Lovebug Valentine glasses. Did you know Lovebugs can be quite destructive little creatures (just take a look at this article on Wikipedia) so I’m glad the foam stickers we used are colourful and good looking! Materials needed to make Lovebug Valentine glasses: Love Bug foam stickers Heart foam glasses How to make Lovebug Valentine glasses: Our craft kit contained 6 pairs of foam glasses so the children picked their favourite colour to work…

    Easy Christmas Gift Boxes

As much as I love thinking up new crafts to make with the children sometimes it’s really nice to open a ready made craft kit. We were recently sent a box of Christmas craft supplies from Baker Ross and one of our favourite activities was making up their Christmas Gift Box Kits. The kit contained enough supplies to decorate three festive gift boxes – three circular boxes with foam stickers – and my children loved making them. My 4 year old was happy to follow the picture on the kit packaging. He’s good at following pictorial instructions, probably due to…

Fortunately he loves to craft as much as we do so I was happy for him to explore our crafty cupboard(s). I thought it would be fun to make something he could take home with him so we made sweet little stained glass owls. Spring has arrived

We’ve had unseasonally warm weather over the last few days. It’s been lovely to have the back doors open and my pot of daffodils has definitely brought some of spring inside. I thought I would make a spring time decoration with some scrapbooking papers, bakers twine and wooden pegs. I was sent the scrapbooking paper from Baker Ross but the rest of the supplies were from my craft stash. The pack contained 13 different designs so I chose my favourite prints and patterns and cut out my letters. I wanted to make a little banner so I attached them to…

    Mothering Sunday crafts

A couple of weeks ago we were sent a lovely parcel of craft goodies from Baker Ross. There were so many craft packs it’s taking us a while to work our way through them, not that any of us have been complaining. With Mothering Sunday coming up soon in the UK (March 30th) we thought it was a good time to take a closer look at the Mothering Sunday crafts. We were sent two packs of cards and all the children had to do was colour them in and add their own message. The first craft we did was the…
