One of my favourite activities is baking with Edward. Mixing the ingredients is his speciality! But he also enjoys his role as chief taster 🙂 He was very excited when he heard we had been sent the new range of junior baking products from Renshaw to try for ourselves.
Designed with mini bakers in mind, the Juniors range is 100% natural flavours and colours and encourages children to get creative in the kitchen and rustle up edible masterpieces of their own. I baked a batch of simple shortbread and then tried the Magic Melting Icing which, as it says on the container, magically melts in the microwave and is fab for decorating fairycakes or biscuits. We tried the blackcurrant flavour which was simple to use and tasted great.
We also tried the Cool Coloured and Funky Flavoured Sugardoughs which are great for moulding and modelling favourite characters and shapes. I hope you can all recognise that the figure on the left is Iggle Piggle, currently Edward’s favourite character! We also had fun making different shapes and moulding several colours together. The pack contains four colours: red, yellow, green and blue. We found the blue very dry and the red quite moist, but you can use icing sugar to make it less sticky.
We even got daddy involved in the baking although he was a bit more technical than we were. Take a look at his short stopmotion:

As you can see, we all had a lot of fun with the products!
To celebrate the launch Renshaw has teamed up with the UK’s favourite fictional baking character – Flossie Crums! The much awaited third instalment in the children’s baking adventure book series, ‘Flossie Crums and the Royal Spotty Dotty Cake,’ sees Flossie Crums embark on an exciting new adventure and cook up a range of treats with Renshaw Juniors.
