Little Sis was sent some lovely Miffy products to review. We’re huge fans of Miffy toys and still play with the Miffy rattle car that the toddler had when he was younger. To add to her toy collection she was sent the Miffy Soft Activity Cube. This is new and exclusive from Holland, a chunky and soft activity cube. It features rattle and crinkle sounds, a baby safe mirror and patches of the softest velour. Each side also has a fun character or activity including Miffy, a crinkley cockerel and a fluffy lamb. It’s the perfect size (14cm x 14cm…

We’ve been talking to the toddler about the Olympics and as it’s only 18 days to go I thought I would make him something Olympic themed for his lunch today. What better than Olympic torch pancakes? Make a simple pancake batter. My favourite recipe is 100g plain flour, 2 eggs, 300ml of semi-skimmed milk, a tbsp of vegetable oil and a pinch of salt. When you have cooked the pancake, just roll one end of the pancake tightly and fill the top with vanilla ice-cream. A lovely tasty and topical treat!

As a home baker with a *very* sweet tooth I was happy to receive a copy of Marshmallow Madness by Shauna Sever to review. It may be summer but with the wet weather it’s also pretty good to hide indoors from the rain drinking hot chocolate with whipped cream and marshmallows. I didn’t ever think of making my own marshmallows but Marshmallow Madness gives you all the information you need to make them at home. The book is well set out with a helpful introduction and a list of key ingredients as well as marshmallow-making tips and techniques. The book…

As a very busy mum I’m sure I’m not alone in having an overflowing washing basket. A husband with a messy hobby, a toddler addicted to his paints and the garden and baby discovering food do not make for clothes which stay clean for long. Thank goodness for Ariel Powder which has been awarded Best Buy status from independent consumer magazine Which? for the third time! The Which? Best Buy status is awarded to products and services which have satisfied specific criteria based on the results of rigorous comparative tests and analysis. In this month’s consumer product review, Which? Praised…

Given my frequent mentions of the Queen of Print, Orla Kiely, it will come as no surprise I fell in love with these the moment I saw them. Paper cupcake wrappers featuring a very Orla Kiely-esque car print. I love this design and already have some luggage and a notebook featuring it so I thought these would be fun to use. I am the Queen of the packet mix so tried a Chocolate Muffin Mix from Tesco which I bought recently. The muffins were huge but don’t look too big in these lovely cupcake wrappers. I’ve only heard of…

What’s on your reading list this summer? Idealo UK have teamed up with Foodies100 to challenge us to share our holiday reads. Once upon a time I read all the time but with two children and no time I have to admit I prefer flicking through cookery books and pattern books to reading a novel. You’ll notice that no. 5 on my Day Zero list is to ‘Read at least one book every month for 12 months’ which I’m still yet to achieve – I might have to change that to issues of Mollie Makes instead! My Amazon Wishlist is…

We’ve been trying a lot of baby food lately. This is great because I think making baby food is a real hassle and I’m happy to buy good ready made food! Over twenty years after the publication of her first book, Annabel Karmel has launched her first range of organic baby purées in pouches. Annabel Karmel’s organic purées are based of some of the most popular recipes from her books, and made with the best possible ingredients that you could find in your own kitchen. The range comprises of Sunday Best Roast Chicken, Cosy Cottage Pie, Scrumptious Salmon & Sweet…

Last week we were invited to Kentish Town City Farm to meet Paul Lindley who founded Ella’s Kitchen. He’s a lovely man and remembered we had previously met at an event at the ELC last year. Ella’s Kitchen always seem to be bringing out tasty new treats for our little ones and their latest is a new dairy range. We met at Kentish Town City Farm and I was a little nervous about going there as the toddler shows little interest in animals. He can name them all and is happy watching them on cBeebies, he’s just not so interested…

It’s that time of the month, the PinAddicts Pinterest Challenge. The idea is to choose something from your Pinterest boards to create and link up each month. We are currently embracing all things Lego so when I saw Lego biscuits on Pinterest I knew I had to try making my own version of them. For the biscuits I turned to my faithful Biscuiteers recipe for plain biscuits as the recipe has never let me down. When I had rolled out the dough I cut out a number of biscuits using Lego bricks to make sure they were the right shape. Such…
