Despite enjoying the school holidays I have been planning for September and back to school. Half of the new uniform is bought but I’m putting off new school shoes for a week or two (always my least favourite job). My 4 year old will be starting Reception in September and taking a packed lunch so I’ve made her a personalised lunch bag to carry it in. I used a little cotton bag, Bostik Fine and Wide Glu Pen and cut out the first letter of her name using my Sizzix machine. The Bostik Fine and Wide Glu Pen can be…

Last week we took part in a really fun Go Jetters Twitter Party with Fisher-Price, CBeebies and UKMumsTV. Go Jetters is a really fun and educational programme, all about four adventure-seeking superhero Go Jetters as they explore places around planet Earth. It’s one of those programmes that I really encourage my children to watch as they learn so much from it, especially about other places around the world. We got to play lots of the new Go Jetters toys from Fisher-Price, including the Go Jetters Vroomster and the figures of Xuli, Kyan, Lars and Foz. Each comes with a souvenir…

My 4 year old believes in fairies, do you? She seems to spend a lot of time watching Tinkerbell films and we have had fun building a fairy garden outside. We are always on the look out for more fairy fun so were delighted to see the Opening Fairy Doors playset which consists of a fairy door, window, post box, fence panels and accessories to build your own indoor fairy portal. Opening Fairy Doors allows children to create a magical fairy world in their own room. Sprinkle a pinch of Magic Dust and fluttering fairies are believed to come out…

To me summer means putting my feet up and trying to catch some of the Summer Olympics on tv. Although I’m not sporty or particularly competitive I just love the Olympics and watching the best sports people from around the world competing. I also think it’s a good way for my children to learn more about sports, different countries and hopefully inspire them too. I can’t miss an opportunity for seasonal crafting so have brought together 11 of the best Olympic crafts and activities for kids to celebrate the Games of the XXXI Olympiad: Easy tennis cupcakes Flag rock featuring…

You can tell the weather must be bad if I’m back with another post today. Have your children caught the Pokémon Go bug? If so, I have a quick and easy craft with our Pokémon Go Poké ball pom poms. In case you didn’t know, a Poké Ball is a type of item that is critical to a Trainer’s quest, and is used for catching and storing Pokémon. Pom poms are always fun to make. You can make your own cardboard circles from an old cereal box which is what I used to do when I was a child. Or…

The weather has taken a turn for the worse so I’m really grateful we have been sent some lovely toys and games to review. Today I’m going to share the new Disney Frozen Aquabeads Playset. This is a fun set that lets you create your favourite Frozen characters including Elsa, Anna, and Olaf. Aquabeads are really fun and something my 4 and 6 year old love to play with. Simply select a design template, place the layout tray over the template and create your design. When you’ve finished, spray with water and the beads will magically stick together. This set…

Last week was the first full week my husband spent out of hospital and it was good to have him home. To give him a chance to recuperate the kids spent the week at Super Camp. I was a little apprehensive how they would get on but they loved it. They did a multi-activity week and came home happy but tired every day. Because the children were busy we were able to enjoy a little date during the day. We went to the cinema to see Jason Bourne, I love Matt Damon and this was a great fast-paced action film.…

Every month I challenge myself to make the Mollie Makes magazine cover gift. I’ve subscribed since it first came out and have a drawer full of unopened kits – but no more! I’ve been making more time for crafting and I love to make the kits and hopefully try something new with each of them. Issue 69 of Mollie Makes came with a cute Pom Pom Necklace Kit. There was also a a little booklet with 3 bonus projects – to make a felt bouquet, pastel drop mobile and a Scandi cushion. I didn’t like the necklace so decided to…

A couple of weeks ago we had our first foreign holiday with two children. It was a new adventure for all of us. Normally we holiday in the UK, either visiting my mum in Wiltshire or my father-in-law in Devon. We are so lucky to have family who live in beautiful parts of the country and we always have a great time. However, we decided it was about time we travelled further afield, so got the children their passports and booked with P&O cruises. Cruising with the family on the Ventura We’ve endured long car journeys with the children but…
