    Aquabeads Super Mario playset review

    My son is a keen gamer. Screen time is his reward for doing his homework, reading a book to his younger sister or going to bed properly. Yes, at 6 he still has a reward chart but it really works for him (and us!). Anyway, his favourite games are Mario Super Kart on the DS and Star Wars Force Awakens on the PS4. I think I mentioned we were recently asked to be Aquabeaders and were sent the Aquabeads Super Mario Playset to review and share with you. What I’m reading: The Muse by Jessie Burton

    I absolutely devoured Jessie Burton’s first novel, The Miniaturist, so when I saw a copy of her new book The Muse I bought it straight away. I finished it a few weeks ago. It was an easy read but it took me a good few weeks due to all the upheaval of the summer holidays. It’s story has kept me thinking ever since I finished it. A picture hides a thousand words . . . On a hot July day in 1967, Odelle Bastien climbs the stone steps of the Skelton gallery in London, knowing that her life is about…

    Mollie Makes crochet flower garland

    Every month I challenge myself to make the Mollie Makes magazine cover gift. I’ve subscribed since it first came out and have a drawer full of unopened kits – but no more! I’ve been making more time for crafting and I love to make the kits and hopefully try something new with each of them. Mollie Makes crochet flower garland Issue 70 of Mollie Makes came with a crochet flower garland kit – 3mm crochet hook, dark pink yarn, green yarn, yellow yarn, pink yarn and orange yarn. My heart sank a little when I saw it as I am…

    Kawaii Japan Surprise Box from Asking For Trouble

    I haven’t treated myself to a subscription box for a while but when I heard about the new Kawaii Japan Surprise Box from Asking For Trouble I knew I wanted to get my hands on one. I love Marceline’s products, she has a cute gingerbread range!, and have made a few small purchases before, such as this gingerbread couple tea towel. When I heard about the limited edition of 25 subscription boxes I knew I had to snap one up. Kawaii Japan Surprise Box Each box cost just £15 (for contents worth around £32) and includes ten items including a cute…

    Decorated Trolls gingerbread biscuits

    We’ve been taking inspiration from those cute little Trolls recently. We’ve seen the trailer for the new Trolls film a few times and enjoyed playing with the new Poppy Style Station which we recently reviewed. I thought it would be fun to bake and decorate Trolls gingerbread biscuits so found a cookie cutter online and got everything ready. Decorated Trolls gingerbread biscuits You can probably guess that I made a batch of my favourite gingerbread dough (using this gingerbread recipe here). They spread a little whilst baking as I hadn’t chilled it for long enough, but they were still recognisable…

    Halloween Monster Letter Decorations

    Here in the South of England we’ve been experiencing a mini heatwave. My daughter is only doing half days at school this week as she settles in so we’ve had some amazing afternoon playdates in the sunshine. All this makes today’s crafty post a little strange to write as we’ve started our Halloween crafting! Yep, not only are the shops full of Christmas cards but Halloween decorations too. A few days ago we received our latest parcel of Bostik goodies to craft with. The theme was Halloween which is always fun. Our parcel of goodies contained both Bostik Glue Dots…

    Win a bundle of Sofia the First toys

    We’re pretty big Disney fans here. My 4 year old loves her Disney Princesses and Sofia the First is one of her favourites. What’s not to like about the magical world of Sofia the First, the little girl who learns that behaving like a princess has to come from the heart? My 4 year old is a pretty lucky girl and was sent a bundle of the new Disney Sofia the First toys from Jakks Pacific. This new range is perfect for miniature adventures, with super cute 3 inch collectibles and playsets. We had fun opening the new toys and…

    Zog and the Flying Doctors {a picture book review}

    Since my children came along I have enjoyed reading the stories by Julia Donaldson as much as my children have. Yesterday I heard that the latest book to be animated is The Highway Rat and will be screened at Christmas 2017. That feels like quite a long time so I was also pretty pleased to discover a new book had been published by Julia Donaldson, illustrated by Axel Scheffler. Theirs is such a winning combination so when I spotted a copy of Zog and the Flying Doctors in the supermarket, I popped it in my trolley. Zog and the Flying…
