    Tissue paper unicorn horn craft

    I’m sure it can’t have escaped your attention that everyone is obsessed with unicorns. I admit that we love unicorns too, I’ve even been drinking out of a unicorn mug for the last few months. We’ve made a few unicorn crafts, such as our unicorn painted rocks,  but there’s always room for more. I’ve been thinking about making a colourful unicorn horn for a while and when we received our latest box of Bostik Bloggers craft supplies I knew we had everything we needed to make it. How to fly like an elephant by Kyoko Nemoto

    It feels like it’s been a while since I shared a really good childrens’ book with you. Both my children are bookworms. We still visit our local library every few weeks but it’s also really lovely to be sent a book to review. Recently the V&A has collaborated with Puffin on some fun picture books. The partnership brings the museum alive through innovative activity books and we are so excited to be telling you about How to fly like an elephant by Kyoko Nemoto. How to fly like an elephant by Kyoko Nemoto EVERYONE knows that elephants can’t fly. They’re TOO…

    Sylvanian Families Maple Cat Family

    My 6 year old loves her Sylvanian Families toys. Have you heard of these before? They are sweet little animal characters with charming and beautiful homes, furniture and accessories. They live, work and play in Sylvania which was apparently based on a 1950s fictional British village. This year a Town setting was introduced to the range. This exciting urban destination lets the characters visit on a special ‘day out’. It’s also where the ‘older sister’ characters work – doing their dream jobs. We’ve already told you about Stella the Chocolate Rabbit sister, who is one of the older sisters who works…

    Sheringham to Holt {North Norfolk Railway}

    We love a heritage railway and on our recent trip to North Norfolk managed to ride on the North Norfolk Railway, which goes from the pretty seaside town of Sheringham to Holt. Sheringham to Holt {North Norfolk Railway} The North Norfolk Railway offers a 10.5 mile round trip by steam train (there are vintage diesel trains on some journeys) through an area of North Norfolk designated as being of outstanding natural beauty. We didn’t have great weather during our holiday but it didn’t stop us wanting to go on the steam train. We arrived at Sheringham and took the first…

    Summer activities for kids – painted rocks

    We’re huge fans of painting and hiding rocks. Over the Bank Holiday weekend we hid a lot of painted rocks. Both my children have been decorating a lot so recently I varnished everything so we could take them out with us whilst we were away. I think that painted rocks make a great low-cost activity that will keep any child busy over the holidays. What equipment do you need to decorate painted rocks? Making and decorating painted rocks is relatively low-cost but you will need to invest in a few thing. We buy bags of smooth rocks from the garden centre.…

    Bluebells in Ruislip Woods

    We are so lucky to have Ruislip Woods National Nature Reserve and Ruislip Lido near where we live. The Lido gets pretty busy on a sunny weekend so we avoid going but it’s surrounded by ancient woodland which is the perfect place to escape to for a cool walk. We last visited a few weeks ago and were so happy to see the bluebells blooming. We headed for a walk around Park Wood. It had been raining a lot but thankfully there were lots of raised paths so we didn’t get too muddy. My children love the woods and it was…

    Bloopies underwater friends review

    I have two water babies and am always on the lookout for toys they can play with in the bath. They still love bath time just as much as they did when they were babies. It’s also a great way to unwind after a busy day or weekend. This weekend we’ve been visiting my mum and I took something special for the children to play with. Have you heard of Bloopies? They are the ultimate underwater friends! The dolls squirt water out of their mouth and snorkel when you press their tummy, and they will blow bubbles too! Bloopies underwater friends…

    Monday mindfulness – 5 Happy Things

    Happy Monday everyone. Hope you had a great weekend. I love starting off each week by writing my Monday mindfulness – 5 happy things blog post. It’s a great chance to reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of our family adventures – it’s a post I always enjoy writing. Monday mindfulness – 5 Happy Things It was a busy week for me as my son was off school for 3 days. So I didn’t have as much time as normal to get things done with him around. We started…
