Disclosure – this is a sponsored post For the last 3 months we’ve had a house guest. It has been lovely to have the grown up company, and babysitter on tap, but now they have finally moved out. For three months our spare room was in use and one of the side effects of this was that we didn’t make any changes to our house in this time. However as soon as our guest moved out it gave us a chance to move things around. Our 2021 home improvement plans The spare room is usually a bit of a dumping…

Starting the week by writing the Monday Happy List is something I’ve been doing for a while. It’s a chance for me to sit down and reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of our family adventures. It’s a post I always love to write. Monday Happy List {Week 352} Last week was actually a really bad week for me. I had two interviews and didn’t get offered either job. It was disappointing and hugely frustrating for me and it’s going to take me a while to pick myself up. We…

This year I am trying, and failing, to not buy any more craft kits. At the start of the year I added a little list of unfinished projects to my sidebar and had great fun ticking them off. I recently came across the ‘The Summer Sampler’ Block of the Month Club which I bought in 2019 from Pretty Fabrics and Trims. Spread over 4 months, each month I received a little packet containing Monthly instructions, super pretty fabrics and embroidery threads for three blocks. Over the 4 months this made a number of blocks which could be stitched together to…

It’s a chance for me to sit down and reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of our family adventures. It’s a post I always love to write. Monday Happy List {Week 351} We actually had a really quiet week last week. My mum finally moved into her new place so we were busy helping her move and unpack over the weekend. I was really keen to re-visit the wild flower meadows we discovered in Ickenham last year. I had a few comments about it on my Instagram and wanted to pop over to see if the same fields had been left as wild flower meadows. We’re lucky to have lots of open green spaces in Hillingdon and we all love to see the wild flower verges which have been sown. This year there were red and pink poppies which are now over, but the verges are still full of colourful wild flowers and cow parsley. Wild flower meadow Ickenham Our little…

With three weeks to go I am hopeful that both my children will be able to enjoy the last few weeks of term. I am certainly looking forward to a 6 week break if we can get through the next few weeks. Unfortunately my son has had his Transition Day and Year 6 trip cancelled which makes me so annoyed when I see all the crowds at the big sporting events taking place. Musings at the end of a school term So I couldn’t resist this amazing hoop kit I found, it summed up my thoughts perfectly! Beautiful backstitched florals meet…

Our garden has really come alive this year. It bring the whole family joy and we all enjoy spending time, nurturing our plants! Lavender is great for helping to reduce anxiety and never fails to lift my mood. These easy no sew lavender bags are great for popping under a pillow at night to aide sleep, or even in a drawer to make clothes smell nice.…
