Any one for tea?

We were offered the chance to review a High Tea Shape Matching Set from John Crane. This is a lovely wooden toy and the first thing we were impressed with was the presentation as each cake sat in its’ own little compartment inside the box. It was simple to put the cake stand together and each cake has a number which corresponds to its place on the cake stand.

The High Tea Shape Matching is aimed at 3+, contains 19 pieces and is great for developing spatial awareness, hand-t0-eye co-ordination as well as communication and role play.

Edward really enjoyed playing with the High Tea Shape Matching Set, the pieces are quite small so perfect for little hands. I know that he will get a lot of use out of it as he learns his colours and numbers. We also bake a lot so this is a great toy for pretend play. The product is aimed at a slightly older age than Edward but this didn’t stop him having lots of fun with it.

My only comment is that it is only produced in very girly pink 🙂 I’m a firm believer that toys shouldn’t be gender specific at all and although the colour wouldn’t put me off buying this toy it would be great if it didn’t feel like it was for girls only!

    These look great but as Kyd is a Boy the colour wouldn’t be great…. He would’ve benefited from the fine motor skills involved when younger though! I have posted a link on the Down syndrome parent forum ‘Future of Downs’ I hope the parents with younger children will benefit. xx

    Any chance you could ask them to make this in other colours? I think manufacturers should realise that in todays society gender stereotypes are not what they were, boys can play with things which in the past were classed as “girls toys”.

    Lovely set. In this day and age of PCness, it’s nice to find a traditional girly toy in a traditional girly colour.
