Starting my week with The Weekly Edit is a ritual I’ve kept for years. It’s my favourite Monday morning anchor—a chance to slow down, celebrate the ‘small wins,’ and gather the smiles from the week behind us. Part reflection and part record-keeping, it’s my way of documenting our family’s adventures before the next chapter begins.
The Weekly Edit {Week 42/2026}
The youngest teen was awarded her Chief Scout Gold award and finished Scouts. She has loved every minute of Scouts and will hopefully decide to join Explorers after hillwalking this weekend (her final Scouting activity).
Our Halloween decorations are all up! It was fun looking through our box of decorations, there are so many handmade Halloween decorations, including our personalised pumpkin decorations we made a few years ago, to my favourite no sew Liberty pumpkins.
I finished my latest Happily 1000 piece puzzle called Wanderlust. It featured vintage style travel posters which I really like. Unfortunately there was one piece missing, but it was right on the edge so didn’t really matter.
My daughter made a Sainsbury’s Halloween Brookie Monsters kit, a fudgy chocolate brownie mix layered with an orange-flavour cookie crumb topping, chocolate drops, white icing, and sugar decorations which make 8 spooky brookies. They were quite delicious and we are them whilst watching the original Ghostbusters film over the weekend.
