We’ve lived in London for the past 30 years and love to explore. We love to explore with the kids too and introduce them to all the varied parts of London. There is always so much to see and do that it can be difficult to choose where to spend our free time! Throw a dog into the mix too, as we are always on the lookout for something we can all do as a family.
The Museum of Illusions London with teens
One place on our London wish list was The Museum of Illusions London. We had walked past the one in Dublin during our summer break, and thought it sounded like an interesting place to visit. Luckily for us, they advertised a couple of Dog Days where you could bring your dog for free!
The Museum of Illusions London gives you access to over 70 interactive exhibits and mind-bending illusions. These are great for those who love a puzzle as each one will challenge your perception and play tricks on your eyes. It was a great place to take my younger teen and although it was busy we were still able to try out all the different exhibits.
There were different kinds of puzzles and illusions throughout the museum, these included illusion rooms, installations and optical illusions.
The illusion rooms included a symmetry room, colour room and infinity room. Installations included an infinity dodecahedron, a Beuchet chair, head on a platter, infinity portal and cloning table. Some of these we had heard of before, but many were new to us.
There were also optical illusions, such as a café wall illusion, impossible triangle, Fraser spiral and Shephard’s boxes. I’m not sure who had more fun, the dog or us. We took so many photos of ourselves, but also the dog too. He didn’t know what to make of it all, but enjoyed meeting lots of doggy friends.
