Monday Happy List

Five Happy Things {Week 510}

Reculver in Kent

Starting the week by writing the Happy List is something I’ve been doing for the last few years. It’s my chance to sit down and reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of the adventures we have as a family.

Five Happy Things {Week 510}

Last week both the kids broke up from school and went to Scout camp the next day. So far the weather has been amazing for them and they have been enjoying crabbing, cycling, go karting and more.

Whilst the kids were away having fun we decided to enjoy a weekend away and found some quirky Fishermans Huts in Whitstable to stay in. We love Whitstable which is a really pretty town on the Kent coast. We enjoyed lots of dog walks along the sea front, good meals, playing Scalectrix at the Hornby museum, and pints watching the sun set.

We used our National Trust membership to visit Chartwell in Kent over the weekend. This was the family home of Winston Churchill. The gardens were really lovely

The weather has been amazing and we’ve already picked and frozen blackberries for Autumn. They seem to be ready earlier each year. I always associate them with Autumn so love to pick them and keep them for Autumnal evenings, made into a blackberry and apple crumble.

Cotton Clara x Donna Wilson

I stitched the sweetest little embroidery hoop. The kit was a collaboration between Cotton Clara x Donna Wilson featuring the face of a cat. It was so simple to stitch but just what I needed after a busy weekend away.

    Let me just say I am soooo impressed that you’re over 500 weeks into this series! I think finding things to be happy about is the best way to remain grateful, and gratitude drastically changes how we view the world.

    I’ve really enjoyed reading your Five Happy Things Week 510 post, and might I say I LOVE how you stitched the cat face embroidery. My daughter would go crazy over that, it is so cute!!

    Donna Wilson’s playful designs and Cotton Clara’s high-quality materials can create something truly special. I only wonder if I am good at stitching.

    Our kids are out of school now too and we are so busy going out and doing things! I need to get a national trust membership – it seems like there are so many places to explore.
