Starting the week by writing the Happy List is something I’ve been doing for a while over the last few years. It is my chance to sit down and reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of the adventures we have as a family.
Five Happy Things {Week 494}
Last week my son performed in his school concert. It was a lovely evening and we enjoyed watching him play his clarinet.
Thanks to the Bank Holidays we’ve had some extra time at home. My son made delicious Hot Cross Buns and my daughter made Chocolate Easter Nests. I love seeing them confident in the kitchen – although I wish they were able to clean up after themselves! They made a delicious treat alongside our traditional roast lunch on Easter Sunday.
I watched the film Poor Things, an account of the fantastical evolution of Bella Baxter, a young woman brought back to life by the brilliant and unorthodox scientist Dr. Godwin Baxter. It was so strange, definitely not something I’d watch with my mum, but I like to try different genres.
Over the last few days we’ve spent a lot of time in the garden. I’ve re-arranged my planting table and put some of my plants into the ground from their pots. This year I want more in the ground (less in pots!) and it will be easy to set up the watering system, rather than rely on me to water everything. I’m looking forward to picking up some more plants to add colour to the garden as the weather keeps getting warmer.
Since we finished the bathroom we were able to go back to my son’s room. He wanted a larger desk for his computers so we spent some time dismantling the old desk and building the new one. Hopefully this desk will last a while as he’s always changing his mind. His teen room is quite small, now it’s all computers and a bed!
Have a great week.
