christmas tree at St Pancras

Five Happy Things {Week 476}

Posted on November 27, 2023 by jenny

Starting the week by writing the Happy List is something I’ve been doing for a while. This is my chance to sit down and reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of our family adventures. It’s a post I love to sit down and write.

Five Happy Things {Week 476}

Last week we took a trip into London to go and see the Christmas lights. We did this last year too and I like that it is one of our Christmas traditions. We did a lot of walking and saw the Christmas lights on Regent Street, Oxford Street, Carnaby Street, Liberty’s, Fortnum & Mason, Annabel’s night club, as well as the decorated Mini outside Koyn. We also loved the amazing tree made from books at St Pancras International. There are some amazing decorations in London this year.

Twist Museum London

My daughter chose to visit Twist Museum for her birthday and we had a really good time there. It’s an immersive experience and the ultimate home of illusion. We spent over an hour there and took a lot of fun photos.

I published my annual gingerbread gift guide featuring some really fun gingerbread products. I love looking out for gingerbread biscuits and treats as there are so many at this time of year, and my kids love to eat them.

My daughter has been enjoying taking a textiles class at school and has wanted to stitch at home too. She chose an advent calendar for the dog so we have been busy stitching it – hopefully we will be able to finish it for the 1st December!

It Always Snows in Mistletoe Square

I also finished reading It Always Snows in Mistletoe Square by Ali McNamara. I seem to read a lot at this time of year and this was a really easy story to read.

    Just the cover of that book makes me want to read it. I love this series because it really is the simple things in life that make the biggest difference.

    Oh, nice! I have to go check out the gingerbread guide. I love the taste and the smell. I don’t care if it’s a cookie or an ornament. If it’s gingerbread, I’m in!

      I was next door at Kings Cross Station only two days ago – I forgot to go and see the book tree – aarrgghh. I am going to buy myself a festive book to read, you’ve convinced me. There’s only so much Hallmark Christmas a human can take 🤣

    The Christmas Lights look amazing. I’m hoping to head into Nottingham at the weekend to visit the Christmas Market and see the Panto. It’s starting to feel very festive now 🙂
