Starting the week by writing the Happy List is something I’ve been doing for a while. This is my chance to sit down and reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of our family adventures. It’s a post I love to sit down and write.
Five Happy Things {Week 474}
Last week was my first week in my new job. On my first day I found out we were in a consultation period for reorganisation! I’m trying to be positive about my job and just learn as much as I can, although the next few weeks are obviously going to be tricky for everyone.
On Saturday we went into London. We started the morning with a trip to the F1 Arcade and then stayed to watch the Lord Mayor’s Show. It is the oldest, longest, best loved and least-rehearsed civic procession in the world. It is an ancient show of London’s independence, a medieval festival of pomp and pageantry and a modern celebration of our strength and diversity. The weather was amazing so it made for a really great show, the kids loved it.
We managed to squeeze in a trip to the Leake Street Tunnel whilst we were in London. The graffiti changes constantly but is always topical. It was quite busy and we saw lots of artists making their mark on the walls.
On Sunday both the children took part in Remembrance Day services. They were in two different locations (of course!) so we opted to join the service on our local high street.
I managed to get my Spring bulbs in the garden at last. I bought them last weekend and the days are so short there hasn’t been enough time to get them planted. As well as daffodil bulbs I planted some primroses and cyclamen. I also have a winter rose/hellebore to put in, I just haven’t decided where to put it. I spent some time tidying the garden for winter. Another storm has landed here in London so it is a battle to sweep leaves and keep everything tidy.
Have a great week!
