Starting the week by writing the Happy List is something I’ve been doing for a while. This is my chance to sit down and reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of our family adventures. It’s a post I always love to write.
Five Happy Things {Week 445}
Over the weekend we enjoyed an amazing walk around Old Park Wood Nature Reserve in Harefield to see the bluebells. There was a great show of them throughout the woods and were really lovely to see (despite the rain!).
The children both took part in a parade for St George’s Day with Scouts today. The rain just about held off for their parade and service.
I finished my commemorative embroidery hoop to celebrate the coronation of King Charles III next month. The design was simple but I did it in only red embroidery thread so it’s my first piece of red work. Our street is closing for a street party so I really hope the weather improves for it.
We met up with some friends and had a delicious lunch at The Lord Palmerston in Highgate over the weekend. It was so lovely visiting a part of London we used to live in and have such happy memories of. The area has changed so much but some bits were the same. We spotted another pub we used to enjoy going to, so will be going back again soon!
The latest book I’ve been reading is The Dress Diary of Mrs Anne Sykes: Secrets from a Victorian Woman’s Wardrobe. I’ve read a lot of historical fiction recently and picked up this book which is about a book full of pieces of fabrics. It’s really interesting so far and good to read something a little different from my normal book.

April 24, 2023 at 1:54 pmI can’t believe the coronation has come around so quickly, and two bank holidays coming up which I’m pretty excited about. Sounds like a lovely week you’ve had, and hopefully the weather stays nice for the street parties x
