Starting the week by writing the Monday Happy List is something I’ve been doing for a while. It’s a chance for me to sit down and reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of our family adventures. It’s a post I always love to sit down and write. I’m mixing things up a little by posting this weekly post on Sunday instead of Monday!

Sunday Happy Things {Week 419}

We love Halloween and spent last week doing some lovely seasonal things. My daughter carved her pumpkin at Scouts and I made a delicious batch of spooky gingerbread ghosts. We decorated our house too with loads of paper pumpkins and some special seasonal treats.

Have you seen The Watcher yet? We binge watched The Watcher on Netflix in less than a week. It was based on a true story and highly entertaining to watch. It was a little creepy and sometimes funny – definitely worth watching if you can.

Last week I finished reading Remarkable Creatures by Tracy Chevalier. I found the book in a charity shop and it sounded like my perfect book. It’s based on the friendship between the fossil hunter Mary Anning and Elizabeth Philpot, who both lived in Lyme.  It was a fascinating story and made me want to visit Lyme to search for fossils myself!

Today we used our National Trust membership to visit Newton House at Dinefwr. The house was beautiful and the weather amazing, so we walked up to Dinefwr Castle for the most amazing views over the Tywi Valley.

Our son has been hillwalking in Snowdonia with Scouts so we can’t wait to go and pick him up and spend the rest of half term together.
