Monday Happy Things {Week 362}

Posted on September 20, 2021 by jenny

Starting the week by writing the Monday Happy List  is something I’ve been doing for a while. It’s a chance for me to sit down and reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of our family adventures. It’s a post I always love to write.

Monday Happy Things {Week 362}

Last week I was mainly reading The Dictionary of Lost Words by Pip Williams. In 1901, the word ‘Bondmaid’ was discovered missing from the Oxford English Dictionary. This is the story of the girl who stole it. I didn’t realise it was based on a true story about the Oxford English Dictionary but it was really easy to read and I loved the characters in the book.

I’ve been stocking up on Halloween sweets and Halloween candles when I see them. I’m ready for Autumn come the 1st September but Halloween decorations are only just starting to appear in the shops. We started our Autumn crafting too and I can’t wait to show the personalised pumpkins I’ve made for the kids.

Over the weekend we went shopping in Watford. The Lego Store had a free build for Harry Potter golden snitches and the kids loved making them. I think the Lego Store is our favourite shop and we spent ages browsing all the latest sets. I picked up a small spider and haunted house set which I really enjoyed building. We stopped for hot chocolates in Costa and it felt like a normal shopping trip, the first one in months.

I bought a selection of coloured candles and have been busy using our 3D printer to make bespoke candle holders for them. I love to mix up my colours so bought several different ones.

Yesterday we visited our local Farmers Market for a browse. We didn’t need anything but that didn’t stop us picking up a selection of different brownies to enjoy at home. The puppy also got a selection of treats and a new bandana (he has a collection!).

    I love your idea of a happy Monday list. A 3D printer sounds amazing, I’ll have to research them. I love going to the local farmers market too, nothing beats fresh locally made food, especially brownies!

    I have been to the Range the other week and they had quite a few Halloween decorations. I thought it was a bit early for them, but then again, time passed so fast this year. I like going to the farmer’s market as well, last week I got some lovely fruit from there.

    I’ve started to buy some halloween foodie bits to save until there and I’ve put all my Autumnal decor out just because it makes me happy x
