My 9 year old loves to be in the kitchen. She recently asked to make something and with Roald Dahl Day coming up next month we decided to make something inspired by one of his stories. Everyone knows The Giraffe and the Pelly and Me and we loved the sound of yummy Nishnobblers (from Roald Dahl’s Completely Revolting Recipes!).

Ingredients:

100g dark chocolate
100g white cooking chocolate

Equipment:

bowl
saucepan
sheet of bubble wrap 30x25cm
cookie cutter
pastry brush

How to make Wonka’s Nishnobblers

Create a bain-marie by placing your heatproof bowl over a saucepan of boiling water. Break the dark chocolate into pieces and place in the heatproof bowl, stirring regularly. Carefully remove from the heat.

Place the piece of bubble wrap on a baking tray. Use the pastry brush to brush the melted chocolate over the bubble wrap.

Place the baking tray in the fridge for 15 minutes.

Then melt the white chocolate in a bain-marie. Remove from the heat and brush the melted white chocolate over the dark chocolate layer. Place in the fridge for 15 minutes.

Remove the chocolate from the fridge and carefully peel the bubble wrap away.

Using a round cookie cutter you can cut out your Nishnobblers. My daughter loved this part and was happy to eat up any leftovers!

And there you have yummy chocolate Nishnobblers, perfect for celebrating Roald Dahl Day.
