Monday Happy List {Week 351}

Starting the week by writing the Monday Happy List  is something I’ve been doing for a while. It’s a chance for me to sit down and reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of our family adventures. It’s a post I always love to write.

Monday Happy List {Week 351}

We actually had a really quiet week last week. My mum finally moved into her new place so we were busy helping her move and unpack over the weekend. This didn’t leave much time for adventures and even our dog walks were the usual local ones. After a mammoth day unpacking on Saturday we did treat ourselves to a takeaway from Metro Italia in Ruislip – nothing beats freshly made pizza after a really busy day.

I made sure to complete my monthly stitched calendar for July and also finished a real fun embroidered political statement from Hello Treacle. I couldn’t resist buying it and think the stitched florals go really well with the message.

needle point applique

As I completed the tunic I stitched and the embroidery hoop I decided to make a start on something I bought last year (or maybe the year before!). I love all the kits from Pretty Fabrics and Trims and bought myself The Summer Sampler kit. I made the first block but put it together the wrong way and gave up – which is a terrible thing to do! So I found all the weekly parts and am making it. So far I have stitched three blocks and learned a few new techniques along the way.

I’ve been wanting to spend more time on self care for a while now. I’ve been losing weight, singed up to the staff sports club at work and bought myself a yoga mat. I had to go out and buy some trainers as I didn’t have any! I also picked up a yoga mat as I’ve been meaning to try yoga for a while. My joints have really started hurting since I had the covid vaccine so I’m hoping this will help.

picking home grown peas

My daughter picked more of our home grown peas yesterday. I still can’t believe we’ve managed to grow something and eat it! They taste amazing and went really well with our homemade Shepherd’s Pie. Hopefully we will be able to enjoy some tomatoes and courgettes soon too.

Have a great week!

  1. Congratulations on growing your own peas. I can’t keep any plants alive at ours but then all those we’ve tried to grow are in our home as we only have a shared garden.

  2. That’s amazing that you’ve grown your own peas, we’ve only started growing herbs and that’s as soon as it’s gotten so far x

  3. Check you out with the home grown peas that is really impressive and I bet they tasted so much better than shop bought ones x
