Starting the week by writing the Monday Happy List is something I’ve been doing for a while. It’s a chance for me to sit down and reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of our family adventures. It’s a post I always love to write.
Monday Happy List {Week 340}
We had a lovely Easter break but my children were happy to return to school today for the summer term. The weather improved so much over the holidays and although it started with snow it ended with lots of sunny, warm days. We had some lovely adventures now that places are re-opening.
There was plenty of time for crafting too. I’m really enjoying picking up my embroidery hoops at the moment. I shared the Cotton Clara Adventure Awaits hoop over on my Instagram last week and it was very popular. I love the ‘our stellar NHS‘ embroidery hoop I stitched too. I was able to finish stitching the modern bicycle hoop kit from Love Embroidery magazine (and took out a cheeky subscription to the mag too!).
Easter fell right at the start of our Easter holidays and it felt really rushed this year. So rushed that we spent the weekend baking some of the kits we had received. The children both received one of the new Dr Oetker Spectacular Science kits as Easter gifts. There was a Crazy Colour Changing Icing and Squashable Jelly Bubbles kit. We had fun baking the cupcakes and decorating them, the jelly bubbles were much more successful than the colour changing icing. I also finally had time to make the Gingerbread Easter Egg kit I bought.
We had a great morning at Bekonscot Model Village and Railway. It was a place we hadn’t been too for a few years but seemed perfect for our first proper trip out. Everything was outdoors and the weather was perfect, if a little cold. The children enjoyed the Easter themed treasure hunt and we were able to enjoy our lunch outside too.
My daughter loves climbing so we were happy that Rock Up Watford re-opened. We booked a slot for her to go and she had a lovely time. We were also able to combine it with some shopping, which I have really missed. We also spent some money in the Lego Store which made everyone happy.
Have a great week!

April 20, 2021 at 6:09 pmThe embroidery looks really nice, I’ve not made much progress on the one I am working on. I was in Watford last weekend and it was nice to feel a vague bit of normality x
