As a stay at home mum I never thought we would be able to afford the luxury of nursery sessions for Edward. We’ve made the most of free story time and singing sessions at the local library, and since he was born tried baby signing, music classes and swimming lessons.
As my second pregnancy progressed I found I needed to cut back on some of our activities but Edward needed more energetic things to do! We began to look at putting him in nursery for a couple of sessions a week and the only place which was willing to take him for two sessions (which was what we could afford) was our local Montessori nursery.
I love the Montessori ethos so was really happy to send him there. He’s now done two settling in sessions and loves it! He’s painted, played outside in their lovely playground and joined in with all the activities. I would so love to be a fly on the wall and see how he behaves. The nursery manager said he’s been brilliant, really friendly and had a few cuddles from the nursery staff.
I’m such a proud mummy!

November 8, 2011 at 9:52 amLooks like he has had a very good start to nursery life! They definitely get a lot out of it once they are old enough to really join in. Glad that he is enjoying and you are getting some time to relax before number 2 comes along. I was very glad to have some time alone with my littlest and my oldest loves nursery x

November 9, 2011 at 9:59 pmLeo loved nursery, (well still does but now it’s his free sessions), we started with one morning before I had Sean and went on to two as soon as there was room in our nursey. We have one locally so there is usually a bit of a queue to get in. Now he really really loves it and i’m so glad we sent him when we did as he has really developed from it. I think him making his first best friend will always be my memory of his time there.
