Waitrose Gingerbread Box Kit

Monday Happy List {Week 318}

Posted on November 16, 2020 by jenny

Starting the week by writing the Monday Happy List  is something I’ve been doing for a while. It’s a chance for me to sit down and reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of our family adventures. It’s a post I always love to write.

Monday Happy List {Week 318}

Did you notice that I reached No 8 in the Tots100? I think I’m the only one who noticed but it’s still pretty cool. One of my Halloween craft posts went viral last month which probably helped, but it’s nice to know that people enjoy my craft tutorials.

Last week was a really crafty week, finally making the Brass Himmeli star kit I bought last year. I really wanted to make it so found some time over the weekend. It was surprisingly fiddly but fun. You definitely need to concentrate when poking wire through tiny brass tubes! The end result is stunning and I’m hoping we can put it up on the Christmas tree or hang it from the ceiling light like they do in Finland.

embroidered toadstool

I’ve been making more time to craft in the evenings. I bought myself the Autumn Craftpod sub box and whipped up the little felt fox in no time. The toadstool embroidery is taking me a little longer but I’ve been catching up with Billions whilst I stitch. I’m hoping for the Winter Craftpod box for Christmas so I want to make sure I finish this box first!

Nothing beats the smell of freshly baked gingerbread and I’m trying to make some of the gingerbread kits I bought to feature in my Gingerbread Gift Guide. Last week I made the Gingerbread Mug Hangers from Sainsbury’s which were delicious so I had high hopes for the Gingerbread Box kit from Waitrose. It turned out pretty well, despite poor instructions.

wet and dirty Bichon Frise pup

The weather was pretty poor over the weekend but we managed a very wet puppy walk round Eastcote House Gardens and a trip to Ruislip Farmers Market. We stocked up on fresh bread, humous and olives for lunch which seems to becoming a regular occurrence.

Have a great week!

    It’s a lovely idea to take time to remember what we have to be thankful for right at the start of the week.

    OH wow, no 8 is amazing. Well done you. It is hard work staying near the top. I love fresh bread, humus and olives. Need to get more in as the kids ate it all.
