I love to start the week by writing the Monday Happy List. It’s a chance for me to sit down and reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of our family adventures – it’s a post I always enjoy writing.
Monday Happy List {Week 264}
Last week was so much fun and the children just loved celebrating Halloween. They both went to parties at Beavers and Cubs which they enjoyed. Big Brother made a Minecraft inspired Jack O’Lantern head which got lots of comments when we went out Trick or Treating on Thursday.
To celebrate Robozuna’s move to breakfast time TV, Big Brother was sent a special box of Robo-Crunch Cereal, which contains a Robozuna Battle ‘N’ Build Figure inside. We weren’t quite up early enough to watch it on Saturday (at 7am) so we watched it yesterday as the slightly more civilised time of 8.30am. In case you haven’t seen it before, Robozuna is set in a faraway universe, ruled by a legion of evil robots. 14-year-old Ariston and his homemade robot, Mangle, must go head to head against Combatabots in order to free their oppressed home. You can catch up on all the action on ITV/CITV and Netflix now.
On Saturday we went to watch The Mikado by the ENO at the London Colisseum. The Mikado is one of most famous and best-loved of Gilbert and Sullivan‘s operettas. The plot is quite funny – Nanki-Poo loves Yum-Yum but she’s betrothed to Ko-Ko, the new Lord High Executioner. When the Mikado orders a beheading, Nanki-Poo and Ko-Ko try to come to an arrangement that doesn’t involve anyone losing their head! The Director was Jonathan Miller who set it in a 1930’s hotel. The children were a little confused by the plot but luckily the songs and amazing costumes kept them entertained.
Whilst we were in London we managed to go to the Lego Pop Up Shop in Seven Dials. The pop up was to showcase the brand new Lego Originals. Crafted in oak and 5 times larger than the minifigure that inspired it, LEGO Originals comes with a pack of LEGO bricks and unlimited possibilities. We were able to see some which had been specially designed and I snapped one up for my husband for Christmas.
Yesterday we finished off our weekend by going to see a firework show. Little Sis has been begging to see some fireworks for ages so we were happy that it stopped raining and we could go. We bumped into lots of friends there and had a great end to the week.
Have a great week everyone!
