This year is all about finishing things. I write that because I am so terrible at starting projects but not finishing them. For Christmas my mum bought me the cutest little sewing kit to make a sloth. I adore sloths, they are my favourite animal. Unfortunately it took me a while to start stitching this little kit.
The DIY embroidered doll kit from kiriki embroidery was to make a little sloth. There were a few different animals to choose from but I couldn’t resist the little sloth. I was surprised how small the box was but it contained a printed fabric panel, 5 colours of embroidery thread and stuffing.
The only thing not included was an embroidery hoop but I had plenty of these. I placed the fabric panel in the embroidery hoop, and snipped a piece of each thread and placed them on the guide, and started stitching.

The pattern was easy to follow although I had to look up how to do a chain stitch as I’d forgotten.
I followed the pattern and added all the details before putting the panels together and stitching around my sloth. It only took a few evenings to finish off. I like the fact he is sitting up hugging his knees.
He’s only a few inches tall but he’s super cute and sits next to the felt sloth I stitched earlier this year, along with the papercut sloth I made.

oh my goodness this is SO cute – I keep saying I want to start practicing sewing again and this would be such a fun project
OMG, this is the cutest sloth I have ever seen and it looks really easy to do as well. I am not that good at sewing but tempted to try this.
This is great. We totally hear you on starting projects, getting distracted and moving on to something else!
Thanks for sharing.
