Win 3 x John Adams travel games

Win 3 x John Adams travel games

Posted on August 1, 2018August 13, 2018 by jenny

Are you surviving the school holidays so far? They are flying by for us and we have been having lots of adventures. We recently had a few nights away so I made sure to pack a selection of travel games to keep the children busy. Our little family loves board games so we were delighted to be sent a selection of John Adam travel games to try out.

We have a few favourite travel games. We don’t use them just for holidays though, I usually slip one in my handbag when we go out for dinner, to the pub, or when we’re sitting round waiting to pick up from after school clubs. A good travel game will both entertain and amuse and involve the whole family.

With the Summer holidays in full swing we were sent Rummikub Travel, Othello Travel and Triominos Travel to try out. The only one I had ever played was Othello so I was looking forward to trying them with the family.

playing travel games on the train

Our recent weekend away so us travelling by train so I packed Othello Travel to play. My children are really good travellers and look forward to playing games. Othello is a really simple game for 2 to play. I used to play this with my Dad so was able to play it with the children. The pieces are stored beneath the board when not is use and it folds up very small (if anything a little too small, the game pieces are tiny!). It was fun to play and super light for me to carry around.

travel games at the pub

A few days later we went out for dinner with my mum so we packed Rummikub Travel. No-one had played this before but the rules were straightforward. This is suitable for 2-4 players and is a game of strategy using number tiles.

Finally we played Triominos Travel which is the fascinating game variation of dominos but with triangular pieces. Each Triomino is unique because it only occurs once in the game so you have to be clever to score as many points as you can. It can also be played by 2-4 players.

Travel games are ideal if you’re going away this summer and need to pack lightly. We will definitely be taking these with us on our travels. They are recommended for ages 8 and over and are a great way to encourage little learners (and older ones too!) to keep an active mind this summer.

I love triominos. I grew up playing this with my granny! We’ve never had the travel version though so I think that would be great and my 5 year old is at a good age to learn how to play.
