card making subscription box

My Greeting Box {subscription box review}

Posted on June 20, 2018December 3, 2018 by jenny

I love receiving happy mail, especially when I get the chance to try something new. I was recently contacted about My Greeting Box which is a monthly package of card making supplies delivered straight to your door. I love making my own cards and couldn’t wait to try out this new crafty subscription box.

My Greeting Box -a subscription box review

My Greeting Box is a monthly package of card making supplies, delivered straight to your door. Each month you will receive everything you need to make fun and special cards including supplies, tools, technique tutorials and inspirational designs.

Everything arrived in a large flat cardboard box which I couldn’t wait to open. Inside were the supplies to make 3 magical fairy themed cards. Your first box also contains a starter kit comprising of a pack of colouring pens, black ink, an acrylic block, foam tape, a pencil, pair of scissors, ruler, rubber and a sheet of tips.

I’ve never tried making my own cards before. I’ve bought a few clear stamps but been a little clueless about how to use them. So I was excited to receive everything I needed to make cards using clear stamps. I read through the tips sheet and chose which design I wanted to make first.

Excluding the starter kit, the My Greeting Box contained a sheet of clear stamps, coloured card, Shimmer spray, an ink pad, blank cards and envelopes, glue, and some sparkly embellishments.

I picked my first project and gathered the correct supplies. The instructions were really thorough and I enjoyed watching my card come together.

My Greeting Box review

None of them were perfect but I enjoyed some mindful crafting time whilst the children were at school. I learned a lot from making my own cards, and I think there is a little trial and error with this kind of crafting, like making sure you put the right amount of ink on the stamp, not pressing the stamps down too hard, etc.

My Greeting Box review

The amount of craft supplies was very generous so I have plenty to play around with. I like the fact this subscription box helps you build up your own supplies so you could mix and match the stamps and inks to create your own designs too. Overall I really liked the subscription box and could easily see myself ordering more of these for some grown up craft time.

You can find out more on the My Greeting Box website. A box costs £22 with free p&p and you can use the code FIRST25 to get your first box 25% off which makes it just £16.50!
